Committees
There are six committees that form the core of GlobeMed: Campaigns, Partnerships, Communications, Global Health University (GHU), Finance, and Community Building. Every member serves one committee each semester. Let's introduce each team!
Campaigns Committee
The Campaigns team works to plan all of our fundraising events. To support our global partner AMMID, this committee organizes events, such as succulent sales, food sales, an annual indoor activity event, and a global health gala!
Partnerships Committee
The Partnerships Committee is committed to fostering and maintaining strong relationships with AMIMD and organizations in the local Ithaca community, such as the Women's Opportunity Center.
Communications Committee
The Communications team is in charge of spreading the word of GlobeMed to the rest of Cornell and the Ithaca community. Aside from designing promotional fliers for upcoming events, the committee releases a weekly newsletter, informing readers of local social justice/health talks and updating readers on current events.
Global Health University
The Global Health University (GHU) committee's goal is to raise awareness for global and social justice issues that are occurring on our campus, in our country, and around the world. This committee leads a discussion on a relevant global or social justice issue at every chapter meeting while also hosting larger discussions that are campus-wide.
Community Building
The Community Building committee aims to make sure that we are not only fueling change in our beautiful world, but also bonding as we do it! Community Building makes GlobeMed merchandise, hosts social events for members throughout the year, and is responsible for recruitment planning.
